| Paula from Reno, NV USA says: | See others from this town | 12-01-2011 | | | | Reno's not a small town you say? We're proudly the Biggest Little City in the World! My daughter and I moved here in 2004 from flat, flat Texas. We have seasons and snow here, turning of the leaves, everything I love and missed from my childhood on the East Coast. The cold, the snow, the skating rink opening downtown, the California Avenue block party of all the local-owned shops doing a shopping night, it was all magical! We started our own traditions here for Christmas as well as a new life, incorporating all the things we love with the new! Of everything, it's the cold weather and snow that I remember so fondly from my childhood that mean so much to me now in Reno...I find myself grinning from ear to ear when it's snowing! Today I will put up my machine quilted advent wall hanging with all the little dated pockets with little treats for my daughter and her friends, whip out the Christmas music (including Ricky's CD purchased years ago when he did our Quilt Guild Christmas program in Victoria, Texas, which I HAVE to have playing at Christmas time) and wish my younger daughter who is going to school in Texas was here to share! Happy Holidays! |
