I believe the most memorable Christmas is around 1957 or possibly 1958. I received this really neat toy piano from Santa Clause along with the dolls and doll clothes. I had this little cousin that wasn't really interested in the rocking horse that Santa pulled out of the his sack of toys. As my memo... MORE

We have antique sleigh bells that have been in the family a long time. When my children were small, I would run around the outside of the house, very close to the walls. and ring the bells after the kids went to bed. One year, I forgot that I had planted a new bush at the front corner of the house a... MORE

I took a beginner's quilting class in West Monroe, LA and met a wonderful lady who became a very wonderful friend (Jan Sorrells). She introduced me to Stitchin Heaven in Quitman, TX. We took a class there - an overnighter - and took turns driving back and forth from each others house to get the quil... MORE

This time of year reminds me of my mother's kitchen where she had such wonderful smells from the holiday cooking that she gave as gifts. The aromas of cookies, candy, pies. cakes, and popcorn filled the house along with the cedar Christmas tree that we cut from our pasture. Yes, there were lots of g... MORE

Every Christmas is a beautiful memory. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus with family and friends and very often beautiful music.

When I was 13, I *so* wanted a sewing machine for Christmas. This was a lot to ask for as my parents did not have much money. On Christmas morning I ran to the tree to find one small box with my name on it. I was so disappointed - it certainly was not a sewing machine. I tried not to show my feeling... MORE

The night my cousins and I "saw" Santa running under a dining room window outside our house. I used that experience for several years to refute other kids suspicions about the existence of Santa. Turns out, a much older cousin was having a little fun with his younger cousins that Christmas Eve. I wi... MORE

The Christmas Tree is my best Christmas memory. Being raised on the farm, money was watched very carefully. Except when it came time for the tree. My dad always let my brother and I pick out the biggest, tallest tree. They were always so wonderful decorated with the bubble lights, glow in the dark o... MORE

Christmas Eve in my parents beautiful large house, where there was a tall real candle in every window including the attic. No electric lights were used except the tree. My mother made the whole evening so magical and the same when we had kids! The candle represented welcoming in the Christ child. We... MORE

My favorite Christmas memories have got to be piling in the car and driving around to see Christmas lights...When I was little we never had a "cool" car, it was either dented up, loud, had a piece of plastic as a window, or all of the above....Although, I was afraid to let friends ride with us, I ha... My favorite memory was my mother letting us open one gift on Christmas Eve, and it was always a new pair of pajamas. How wonderful it was to sleep in those nice new PJ's. I passed the tradition on to my boys when they were small, but now that they are grown I make them a new pillowcase to open.

My favorite Christmas memory is the year I got my featherweight sewing machine! It was probably around 1967-1968, and I was SO excited. I was around 16 years old, and that sewing machine went everywhere with me after that. It sewed all my clothes, as well as clothes for my mother, in high school. It... MORE

I loved Christmas with my Daddy. He always was so enthusiastic about Santa and even would open the back door to make us believe that Santa had just left the neighborhood. Dad passed away with leukemia at the ripe old age of 49. He lived a full life and taught us all how precious each and every momen... MORE

Hot chocolate, cookies for santa, noses up to the cold wet windows, so sure we could see Santa, sure we had heard him. Waiting, waiting until we could wait no more and into bed we went only to jump up at the crack of dawn to see what was under the tree. A doll for the girls, a truck for the boys and... MORE

When my brother and I found our gifts hidden under the bed-- a Barbie for me, and Tonka truck for him-- played with them, and then put them all back. Then acted surprised when 'Santa" delivered them for Christmas morning!

When I was little, my Mom would be so tired from shopping and baking that every year she would go and get fish from Long John Silver's for our Christmas Eve dinner. We continued this tradition until just a few years ago. However, I now go and get LJS for my lunch on Christmas Eve day.

My fondest Christmas Memories are with my grandparents in Arizona. Grandma always had at least two Christmas tree decorated better than the department stores. The table was always properly set with linen napkins and candlesticks and it was unheard of to eat anywhere but the dinner table. Granny & Gr... MORE
