| Coming from a single parent household in the 50s and 60s, and having 5 other siblings, money wasn't something we had much of. If it weren't for the generosity of the local churches and fire station, there would have been many Christmases we would have done without. My favorite memories are recalling... MORE |

| I am a quilter from G.P, TX but Quitman, TX is my second home. It is a place to gather with friends several times a year to share laughs and tears with. Quitman is the best small town I know of whether it's Christmas or any other time of the year. |

| When I was 9 or 10 years old, my grandmothers got together to plan a Christmas surprise for the whole family. Everyone had either a red flannel nightgown (my grandmothers, aunt, mom, sister, and I) or a red flannel nightshirt (my dad and my grandfather). Each one was decorated a bit differently--min... | Last Christmas was the first White Cristmas I had ever experienced in my entire life. The entire family had gathered at our little home in Quitman and we had so much fun playing in the snow and watching was fun too. It was a time like never before and probably will never happen again. |

| One of my favorite memories is the year that the kids were declared old enough to help decorate the tree. We were in the age range of a precocious 4 to 7 years old. As grandpa was stringing out the lights and we were checking them to make sure each bulb worked, we hatched a plot. Why decorate a tree... MORE |
