| Okay, while writing my last story of my winter memories I was reminded of another story. While in my early teens living in MI., we had an area in our back yard that was lower than the rest of the yard. It was like this all the way down through my neighbors yards as well.) When it rained the water wo... MORE |

| My story is more about Winter than Christmas. I live in Tennessee now and there is little snow (none). When I was growing up in MI, there was a lot of snow in the winter. One of my favorite things to do was to ride my snowmobile. I would come home from school (I was in my early teens) and I would pu... MORE |

| When Steve and I were first married we waited for the sale at Frank's Nursery---the LAST sale, on Christmas Eve. That was the sorriest looking tree we'd ever seen. Of all theh trees over 30+ years, that's the one I remember the most. Good choice.
Thanks for bringing back that memory... |

| Jackson was a small town when I was a child. It has grown today. Christmas Eve was always special. When we stepped out of church services, it would be lightly snowing and it was magical. On Christmas morning the magic continued as we were awakened by the sounds of sleigh bells, Santa's, of course. T... MORE |

| As a child growing up in the rural areas of Mt. Pleasant, MI, we had grown around 15,000 Christmas trees on our back ten acres and we would cut the biggest one we could get in our house and decorate it, always with a very old big star for the top of the tree.

| I lived with my grandparents and we moved to a new farm when I was three years old so when Christmas came I wasn't sure that Santa would find me. We only moved in September or October so I really didn't believe Santa knew where I was. So sometime in the night of Christmas Eve or early Christmas morn... MORE |

| In the late 40's or early 50's there was a "dresser doll" that was the Barbie of the era. She had a very fancy dress and looked really pretty but for our family budget she was out of reach. So Mom crocheted dresses for "naked dolls" each year for me. I received about 20 of them over the years and sa... MORE |

| I remember walking a block to church on Christmas with my Mom and sisters, the air cold in my nose and the sound of the snow crunching under my feet.
