| Bettye from Evansville, IN USA says: | See others from this town | 12-10-2011 | | | | My most memorable Christmas started when my family moved from the city to the country and Santa Claus started making his annual Christmas eve visit. Last year we celebrated my parents 72 wedding anniversary and Santa's 50th anniversary.......yes, 50 years with the same Santa at the same home!! The family now includes five generations from Grandpa at 93 to a great-great grandson at 13 months. Family albums have recorded our growth and changes over the 5 decades, but Santa hasn't changed at all-he's still that jolly ole man that somehow managed to know when you got that speeding ticket at 16, broke your arm on the playground slide, didn't do well in school, had a new boyfriend or girlfriend or got that promotion at work you'd been wanting. It makes no difference if your old or young Santa always knew what was going on in your life. The tradition is, if you are single you have to sit on Santa's lap, when you get married it's an option. Our family has been richly blessed in so many ways and Santa's visits make Christmas memorable to each of us in a million different ways. |
